Free Spirit Spheres

Set among the giant trees of Vancouver Island’s west coast rainforest and suspended like pendants from the sky, the Free Spirit Spheres are unique tree houses for adults.

Marrying traditional tree house technology with sailboat construction and rigging practice, the spheres were invented and manufactured by Tom Chudleigh. Each sphere is individually handcrafted and designed and there are three in total, each with their own name and character – Eve, Eryan and Melody. Eve, nestled in a grove of cedar and maple trees is both quaint and cosy, much like a Hobbit home. She features a single bed, sofa, storage space and tea and coffee making facilities.

Eryan is made from spruce wood and can be accessed via a wooden spiral staircase through the canopy. Inside she has an elegant feel and features a double bed, extra sleeping space in the loft, a small sink and refrigerator, a sofa and storage space.

The newest of the Spirit Spheres, Melody is perhaps the most artistic of them all. Made from vibrant yellow fibreglass and decorated with images of birds and musical scores, she hangs much like a Christmas bauble from the tree branches and comprises a double bed, surround sound system and fold down work spaces perfect for artists or musicians.

The Free Spirit Spheres are a perfect base for exploring the Vancouver rainforests, as well as a peaceful escape to sway in amongst the trees.
