Atlantic Surf Pods

If your two-year-old has ever begged you to take them to the land of the Teletubbies, then their wishes can finally be granted with a trip to the Atlantic Surf Pods in Cornwall. These unique and quirky pods sit minutes from the coast in Bude, surrounded by 26 acres of rolling green hills and sculpted gardens. There are also three beaches within a hobbit’s foot away.

You may half expect Tinky Winky and Dipsy to step out of these wooden eco pods at any time, but despite initial appearances the Atlantic Surf Pods are modern inside and you will be spared the damp under-inflated airbed, as the pods come with a king size bed and high quality mattresses. If you want to feel more at home with nature, you can’t get much closer to the earth than with the large bean bags to take outside.

Covered in grass, the pods are insulated to the highest degree, to keep you warm on those chillier nights. They also have LED lighting and private wet rooms. Outside each pod is its own private patio where you can cook under the stars in your own barbecue oven.

Best suited to:
Those who love camping, but want that added bit of extra comfort, without having to feel guilty about their carbon footprint.

You should know that:
Nearby there is a cable car, which will fly visitors across the town from the old mines to the top of the hill – Cerro de la Bufa.
